WRIGGLE, SHAKE, RATTLE – SIMPLE FACTS ABOUT THE RATTLE SNAKES

The Rattle Snakes famous in the movies like the mummy, Jumanji, Karate Kid, and many more. They are the snake in the jars that dance whenever they hear the flute. They have a distinct feature which the other snakes don’t have – it is their button which is located in their tails.

THE RATTLE SNAKE

These snakes have a triangular head which contains a hollow which is called a pit. The pit is a sensory organ which detects heat so they can hunt even in the dark.

The Snakes can be found in the southern part of U.S. They can be found in the desert and also in the mountain.

They can grow for an average of 3 to 4 feet long

Rattle Snakes hunt on rodents and small critters.

When Rattle Snakes are born, the pre-button appears in their tails. It is the strange thing which are stacked up in their tails. Whenever they shed their skin, a new button appears. That is why we can see the end of their tails stacked up. These buttons are made up of keratin similar to our nails. The inside of the button are empty so when it have 3 or more stacked up it will produce a sound.
